New York Says Thank You - See the Movie!

Rogers-O'Brien Construction and its employees participated in the rebuilding of the Vincent family home in Groesbeck, TX in September of 2007.  The Vincent family compound, where three generations of Vincents had run assisted-living centers for Disabled Veterans, was destroyed by a deadly tornado in December 2006.  The small town of Groesbeck, was not declared a federal disaster area and the family was not eligible for FEMA or other government assistance to rebuild.

That effort, along with other rebuilding projects of the NYSTY Foundation, has been incorporated into a 90-minute documentary film that will be televised this Saturday as part of the commemorative events surrounding the 10th anniversary of 9/11.  It can be seen in Dallas at 7pm, KDFI, Channel 27.  It will also be streaming worldwide on AOL at the same time.  The documentary follows the participants of this landmark public service initiative as they commemorate the anniversary of 9/11 each year by rebuilding homes, hospitals, schools, and churches destroyed by disaster. In the process they share stories of survival and hope, and bring a patriotic message of gratitude and solidarity to survivors of tragedy nationwide.

The New York Says Thank You Foundation was established as a way to commemorate the love and support given to New Yorkers by Americans from all across the country in the days, weeks, and months following 9/11.
